        1. cisco serial interfaces configured for PPP encapsulation are discovered only as "interface," rather than "Interface (Cisco Router)" which means they don't get any performance monitoring or collection. (interfaces configured for other encapsulation types are discovered properly.)

        2. if I change the description of a switch port or an interface on a network device, how and when does scom 'rediscover' the new 'interface alias'? I can't figure out how to make it happen.

        3. it is a PITA to look at your network performance views, since you don't include the device names in the Legend. so if I have two dozen switches, I have two dozen "Port-1.1"s in the port usage statistics view, and two dozen "PSR-0" and "PSR-1" in the processor utilization view, and two dozen and "MEM-0" and MEM-1 in the Free Memory view. with no way to tell them apart.
