  1. Path, MP, Class, GUIDs, etc. Columns Needed in Numerous Screens

    - Groups: Add column for MP (where group is defined/stored)
    - Groups: add column to view "total members"
    - Group Explicit Members: Only the DisplayName of classes appear. There are many, many duplicate class names and it's nearly impossible to select the correct one. Add columns for MP and class Name.
    - Subscriptions: add column to view "subscription giud"
    - Performance View: when adding specific rules to a perf view only the DisplayName of the rules appear. Add columns for Name and MP.

    • Have an OM commandlet to delete a SCOM agent

Have a OM shell commandlet that deletes a SCOM agent (like right-click Delete in Management, Agent Managed Computers), something like this: Get-SCOMAgent –DNSHostName "server01.contoso.com" | Remove-SCOMAgent

      • Possibility to add custom OID fields to the displayname of Network Device discovery

While discovering Network device items (such as custom classes) the discovery created by the Network Monitoring MP Generator does not allow to use a different property of the discovered object to use as displayname. Now it will use the Index as the name (object-1, object-2, object-3). While in SNMP we see the objects have several fields we can use, some of which have information such as location or description or otherwise included. We would like to use that in the name or description of the device-objects discovered.

        • Later versions of Visual Studio 2017 crashes with VSAE installed

This was semi-dormant as a ticket on Developer Community for two months before it was very recently closed: https://developercommunity.visualstudio.com/content/problem/318019/visual-studio-crashes-using-scom-vsae.html

It is basically impossible to with with MP projects in VS 15.8.3 and later.

I need to be able to use the later versions of Visual Studio 2017 AND VSAE together, and I cannot really have a bunch of versions installed side-by-side. (Already running VS2015 besides VS2017).

when the MP for 365 generates an alert it includes the incident number and the portal url, we'd like it to include a direct link to the incident within the portal.

Office 365 Incident Active Incident TM143856: Service degradation for Microsoft Teams (ServiceDegradation) https://portal.office.com/ServiceStatus/ at the moment someone has to connect to the url login and then find the details for the incident. We'd like the MP to provide a link directly to the incident details.

            • Fix the script used to monitor the cluster disks

When monitoring the Windows 2016 Failover Cluster disks, the script (Microsoft.Windows.Server.MonitorClusterDisks.vbs) times out and also causes the clussvc.exe to use excessive amount of CPU usage (on average 25% with peaks to 100%) if the cluster has a higher amount of physical disks (100). The systems are physical servers, with Xeon CPUs (8 physical cores + HT). The script does eventually finish if ran manually, but it needs 25 minutes...

              • More functionality in the SCOM 2016 web console

I understand that this is one of Microsoft's first passes with HTML 5, but really? Why isn't there a 'home' link when you use the alert link to first access the SCOM web console. One has to delete everything beyond /operationsmanager to get back to the other views. Also, why can we only select 1 object at a time (i.e. Windows computers, for maintenance mode and bulk alert management?

Any plans for improvement? Is there a subscription that's available to tell me when new updates are available?

                • Alert history is not updated correctly from within widgets

The alert history is not updated when the resolution state of an alert is modified from within an alert widget.
In our case we have a dashboard with two alert views. Our ops guys use the context menu to set specific resolution states on the various alerts. That kind of action is not recorded in the history information of the alerts. However, it gets recorded when doing the exactly same steps from the default alerts view. Or by opening the alert and changing the status in there directly.

We had opened a premier ticket and were told that this is…

                  • Improve User Role (Dashboards and Views) save performance

Change permissions on Dashboards and Views takes forever to save, currently +/- 40 min. This seems to be related to the number of classes, relations and views in the database.

This must be changed. It's not a workable situation that it would take 40 minutes to change just 1 view permission in 1 role.

                    • Web Console - make Details pane resizable in Safari and Chrome on macOS

I'm using a Mac and open the web console of SCOM 1807 in Chrome or Safari. Clicking on a result in Results pane, I get only a couple of lines in the Details pane. Although I can drag and drop the grey line between the Results and Details pane, it constantly reverts to it's former position.

                      • Install prerequisites automatically if missing

Please just provide the option and bundle the prerequisites for IIS / Report Viewer / CLR stuff and whatnot you might require during setup. This can easily be bundled with Setup software and releases a lot of administrative overhead

                          • Update SCOM to support CNG key stores

Currently, even the latest version, 1807, does not support the use of CNG key store based certificates. This goes against Microsoft best practices of not using CSP key store based certificates. ADFS began support in version 4.0. Even SCCM now supports it as of its latest version. This makes this product unusable in environments requiring CNG certificates.

When building Topology widget HTML5 dashboards with 1807 I noticed :

                              - these "state icons" are not consistent types, some are .png, others are .svg = work in progress ?

                              - any ability to manage the background images used…

                              • Include 'Downtime Periods' into the 'Availability' Reports for Multiple Objects

                                Scenario:
A request to produce a downtime report for multiple objects (say multiple web app transaction monitoring) will only yield the overall downtime. Apparently, there is no way to include the downtime periods into the parent report as we have click on 'Downtime Periods' and that would subsequently produce a new report.

Would be better to have one single immediate view that will show the overall downtime as well as specific downtime periods right below each object so that the whole report can be exported into one single PDF (instead of exporting multiple reports for different objects by clicking on…

Currently only alerts with a source of "alert" are available. Otheralerst have different sources and should be available in this view. If you select all alerts you see them all. If you select all sources in the wizard you do not.

                                  • AD MP - Global Catalog Data Sources query any GC in the domain

Issue exists in the current version 10.0.2.1 of the AD MP.

For the DC Global Catalog performance and availability monitors, as well as the Domain Member Global Catalog performance monitor, the DNS list of IPs returned for the entire domain is used to determine which GC to query. In a large distributed environment like ours, this can mean connecting to a DC all the way across the world, which can obviously cause performance issues. These monitors should also have options to only use local GCs for these tests.

                                    • Bug in AD MP - Domain Member Global Catalog Performance Data Source

Issue exists in current version 10.0.2.1 of the MP.

In the "Microsoft.Windows.AD.DomainMemberPerspective.Performance.GlobalCatalog.DataSource" datasource, there is a simple bug that is breaking both the AD Member GC Performance Monitor, as well as the Performance collection that also uses this DS. The timer in the script calculates the time in seconds:

                                      iTime = DateDiff("s", dtStart, Now)

Unfortunately, the value is returned to the property bag only after the value is divided by 1000:

                                      Call oBag.AddValue("StatusValue", "" & iTime / 1000)

The thresholds in the monitor are intended to be seconds, so this is an obvious mistake. You can easily validate this by…

                                        • Alert properties should contain a custom field for the name of the impacted O365 service

The Alert properties should contain a custom field for the impacted service like Exchange Online, SharePoint Online,.... In this way, customized alert views can be created for a specific O365 service by using the custom field in the alert criteria.
