SCCM MP Client Discovery Hangs
In the latest version of the SCCM Management pack (5.0.8239.1010), the client discovery (Microsoft.SystemCenter2012.ConfigurationManager.ClientDiscovery) hangs on machines that don't have the expected registry keys, it appears. It just runs forever until a 10,000 event is logged, then it starts again.
I found other users reporting this here:

AudioCodes need to be support for SCOM 2016
We need to have the AudioCodes devices monitoring more metrics beside simple 'ICMP Ping' and 'SNMP Ping' function. The current certification property of the AudioCodes devices discovered by SCOM not Certified but Generic. In this way, SCOM can't capture any SNMP traps sent from AudioCodes.

DFS Namespaces MP 10.0.0.0 Bug
There appears to be a bug in the "DFS Namespaces Role Service Discovery (Windows Server 2016 and 1709+)" discovery within this MP. On every server it runs on in my environment I get error 4511 from source "HealthService" in the agent log:
"Initialization of a module of type "RegistrySyncProbe" (CLSID "{472364F2-A1F0-41C0-9A8F-E00C92C2AB31}") failed with error code The parameter is incorrect. causing the rule "Microsoft.Windows.FileServer.DFSN.10.0.RoleServiceDiscovery" running for instance "SOMESERVER.mydomain.com" with id:"{982B451D-958B-EC97-1FCE-E04CA6402B58}" in management group "MyCompany"."
I'm not the only one seeing this, there is a thread created in January about this:
I'll be disabling this discovery in my environment until this…

Bug in Microsoft System Center Management Pack for AD CS 2016 Management Pack
There is a bug in this Management Pack which causes it to fail when TLS 1.2 is enforced. The error is:
Topology10.0Discovery.vbs : Unable to connect to the database with the specified configuration string. Please make sure that your connection string is valid and that your credentials are authorized to access the database. Cause: [DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (SECCreateCredentials()).]SSL Security error.
The bug in the discovery is in Topology10.0Discovery.vbs in this line of code:
GetOpsMgrDBConnectionString = "Provider=SQLOLEDB;Data Source=" & sDBServerName & ";Initial Catalog=" & sDBName & ";Integrated Security=SSPI;"
Provider=SQLOLEDB fails when TLS 1.2 is enforced. Per this article, it should be updated:

Java EE MP (v10.19.1011.0): Incorrect supported app server versions in JEEAppServerLibrary.ps1
I was trying to manually add a WebLogic 12c application for monitoring in SCOM 2019 and was encountering the following error:
.\NewJEEAppServer.ps1 -ManagementServer MGMTSVR1 -Target https://app.site.domain.com:443 -JEEAppServerType WebLogic
WebClient call failed to server: https://app.site.domain.com:443
Unable to determine the application server type and version : https://app.site.domain.com:443After trying the old management pack (v7.5.1038.0), this error did not appear and the application appeared to be successfully added, however no further discoveries take place. I assumed this was down to different versions of BeanSpy and the .ps1 scripts themselves, so reverted this and looked further into the new management pack scripts.
It appears…

DHCP Scope % Available Monitor Broken For Tiny Scopes
Today I found in our weekly health check we have two DHCP servers that SCOM is collecting thousands of DHCP events from. The reason for the event spam is that they have a DHCP scope that has run out of addresses. These scopes are small, one is four addresses and one is five. The "DHCP Server 2016 and 1709+ IPV4 Individual Scope Addresses Available Percentage Monitor" monitor is enabled on these scopes with default thresholds, but remains in a healthy state. I have verified that the "DHCP.10.0.IndividualScopesProbe.ps1" runs successfully on the server, and returns a percentage free of "0" for…

Typo in discovery interval in current Print Server MP
Exists in "Windows Server Print Server 2016 and 1709+ Management Pack". Version 10.1.0.0, which seems to be the most current version.
Discovery "Windows Server 2016 and 1709+ Print Services Role Discovery"
Interval is set to "1440", which is 24 minutes. I believe it should be "14400", which is what the interval is for the previous versions of this discovery. This seems to be a simple typo...

DFSR management pack performance colleciton rules bug
Performance rules in DFSR management packs do not work in latest versions. Looks like "include all instances" is not selected in any of them. Recreating these rules with this option enabled collects and shows perf data.
See this topic for details: https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/systemcenter/en-US/614a4788-cda6-4194-aec0-e6a6446201e4/dfsr-management-pack-missing-performance-graphs?forum=operationsmanagermgmtpacks10 votes -
False "Zone Query Overload" alerts from DNS Management Pack 10.1.0.0
The data source that the "Windows DNS Server 2016 and 1709+ Detect Zone Query Overload" monitor and "Windows DNS Server 2016 and 1709+ Number Of Queries Performance Collection Rule" has an issue. If the server is under heavy CPU load at the time the data source runs, it fails and records a value of "0". This causes false alerts, as the "Zone Query Overload" is a "Delta" type monitor, so it sees a huge increase in queries when the next attempt succeeds.

Hi together,

Open Source your Management Packs
It’s a well-known problem that MPs are way too noisy and that customers spend most of their time tuning the damn things. All that noise also means that the first thing ordinary SCOM users get is bombarded with emails / noise, which causes those users to disengage from using SCOM right from the very outset.
In terms of best practices, it is customers who operate and run these MPs at scale and who therefore have the real-world knowledge of what's needed from the MPs when running them in Production, much more so than disconnected development teams.
Right now, there's no…
