Red Hat 8 needs to be supported in SCOM 2016 ASAP!
Red Hat 8 needs to be supported in SCOM 2016 ASAP. It is not acceptable to not provide an MP that covered RHAT 8.
If we moved to SCOM 2019 we'd loose the ability to monitor our existing RHAT 5 and 6 servers so would be in an even worse situation that we are now with 2016.

sorry, but saying something is going out of mainstream support in 16 months is not good enough. The fact is it is still supported for another 16 months and should support this Operating System. Not everyone can simply move over to 2019 at the drop of a hat as these things take time to plan.

Hi, I was told that you can import the 2019 linux mp into the SCOM 2016 and that works for me.
It's just not official documentation. -

Hi, I'm Himanshu Miglani from SCOM Product group. RHEL 8 support is available in SCOM 2019 and not in SCOM 2016. Our recommendation is for our customers to migrate to SCOM 2019 given that it has much richer set of features. SCOM 2016 is going out of mainstream support in less than 16 months.

Frustrated that SCOM 2016 UR9 didn't add RHEL 8 support I have crafted my own management pack to support it. It obviously comes with no support from Microsoft but happy to share with anyone that wants it.

It has been 2020 and if we still don't have EL8 supported, I won't vote here again and I will vote for Zabbix.
