Allow wildcards to exclude some Databases/instance and not all
To exclude an instance or database from discovery, you have to either specify the full name or use * to exclude everything. It would be much more use to be able to exclude '_clone' or 'test*'.
SQL Server MP (for 2012 and up) is the successor of SQL Server 2017+ MP and has this feature from its first version – 126.96.36.199, April 2019.
Originally, this feature was presented in June 2018 within the last RTM release of SQL Server 2017+ MP (v.188.8.131.52).

Actually, the SQL Server MP has this feature called 'Exclude List', placed in Overrides for Discovery DB Engine and Database:
"A comma-separated list of databases that must be excluded from discovery. Use a wildcard character * to exclude all databases. Otherwise, use conditions like *_test to exclude database names that end with _test, Test* to exclude database names that start with Test, or *test* condition to exclude database names that have test in any place."

its great pain when there are thousands of DB`s and hundreds of testing databases that do not need to be monitored

@Chris Gibson, so this ability is something that we have introduce in the dynamic ruling within the partner solution Live Maps. why not give that a go to solve the issue?
Great idea Chris, this would be very useful
I agree with this!
