Service level objective availbility ignores maintenance mode in DA childobjects

Availbility SLOs only read the maintenance mode from the root of the targeted object. If it is a distributed application all child object maintenance modes are ignored and the objective can not report or compute the maintenance mode times correctly.
I do not want maintenance mode rollup, i want queries that deliever the correct data.
I do not want to set the child object AND the DA root to maintenance. None of the engineers know in wich DA the specific object is used so if they do their work the DA is never affected. Pretty useless at the moment. I've opened an SR but with no success, as this is "by design".
