  1. support maintenance schedules which targets a SCOM group with a lot of members

When a maintenance schedule targets a SCOM group with 500+ members/objects to put into maintenance mode, each object is put into maintenance mode simultaneously. This means each object will exit maintenance mode simultaneously as well. This results in a very large MaintenanceModeStage table in the data warehouse. The rule which processes this table has a 30 second timeout, while it takes several minutes to process all entries, and raises multiple 31551 events. The timeout value cannot be changed.
Would it be possible to either not put each group object in maintenance mode simultaneously, or to allow the timeout value to…

  2. Allow SCOM Unix Agent to Run as a non-root account with elevated privileges

At current time, the Unix agent for SCOM 2012 R2, 2016 and 1801 requires that the agent software run with root user credentials. Any software that runs directly as the root user is a security risk.

I'd like to see a future version of the SCOM Unix Agent that could run as a non-root user, with elevated privileges, so that the agent can properly monitor the Unix client while minimizing security risks.

  3. Bug in SCOM 1801 webconsole view (with workaround)

    Hi,

After upgrading SCOM to 1801 you'll get a blank page when trying to access the webconsole with URL "...../operationsmanager".
This bug only appears in IE11 - other browsers (chrome/FF/Edge) represent the webconsole without problems.

It seems to be a problem with the document mode (the correct document mode should be "Edge" but "IE=7" is used by default. So IE11 is not able to show the webconsole correctly. To resolve this issue you have to add the following HTTP Response Header in IIS of the websites OperationsManager and MonitoringView:
    Name: X-UA-Compatible
    Value: IE=edge

After that the webconsole will work correctly.

  4. Update the Service Bus and Workflow Manager Management Packs

The Service Bus and Workflow Manager Management Packs are not updated since March 2015: is there any plan for updates?
We're facing an issue in monitoring the databases used by the Service Bus and the Workflow Manager that are hosted in a SQL Server 2014 machine, but SCOM always report them in critical state and the error message states there is no Monitoring Pack for SQL Server installed.

  6. Incorporate Alert Correlation tehniques into SCOM

We have multiple SCOM servers and management group and our service desk constantly ask why when there is a problem with a server or service do we get so any alerts. Can we only display a root cause or an aggregated alert with the subsequent alerts attached. E.g. A high level alert with all other alerts display underneath this generic alert?

  7. SQL TDE Support for SCOM 2016

We are implenting SQL TDE for all our SQL databases in our organization including SCOM. Based on Microsoft support this is not a supported scenario. We need Microsoft to support SQL TDE implementation in SCOM 2012/2016.

  9. "Send Queue % Used" Monitor in Core MP doesn't work

The "Send Queue % Used" Monitor targeted to the "Agent" class in the "System Center Core Monitoring" MP (version 7.1.10226.1177) never changes state, even when the threshold is exceeded. Additionally, the thresholds in the documentation do not match the thresholds actually configured in the monitor.

  10. Error in Powershell code in Microsoft.Windows.DNSServer.2016.DNSServerZoneQueryStatistics.DS

There is an error in the zonestatistics powerhell script. Somehow there is a > instead of -gt

    Code reference:
    $zoneQueryStatistics += $allStatistics.ZoneQueryStatistics
    if ($zoneQueryStatistics -ne $null -and $zoneQueryStatistics.Count > 0)

  11. Fix Remote Desktop Services Management Pack

Currently the performance dashboards in the RDS 2016 management pack do not work, I have looked at the XML and this appears to be because they are looking for Server 2012 R2 object, not Server 2016.

Please resolve this so we can monitor RDS 2016 performance via the built in dashboards.

  12. Performance report improvements

Allow performance report to have multiple series via a group. e.g. a group of 30 windows OS classes to show as individual colored lines on the graph, currently you have to add each class individual, as adding the group in, just adds one line to the graph, creating a average value for the whole group

  14. Management Pack for Exchange 2016

Create an updated version of the MP for Exchange 2016 and do the same for 2019. Let's not be lazy. Even if the monitoring did not change much, a new MP is required so that we have proper views, groups, descriptions in alerts, etc.

This isn't the way things should be done: https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/exchange/2016/06/13/monitoring-exchange-server-2016-with-system-center-operations-manager/

Especially for a mission critical application like Exchange.

  15. Make the SCOM Console Windows Stop Disappearing

Working in the SCOM console, when closing a window the console will occasionally disappear. You have to go to the task bar to find it and re-select the window.

To reproduce this; First make sure the SCOM Console is full screen. Then click on an alert created by a rule. In the alert details, open up the rule by clicking on it.

    Then click Configuration, and View.

    Then close both windows.

    The SCOM Console will disappear.

  16. Enable FluentD log file monitoring feature on UNIX platform.

At present FluentD log file monitoring is supported on Linux Agent but not supported on Unix. Hence looking for this feature on UNIX platforms.

  17. Show more than "New" alerts in the "Alert View" when pivoting from State/Diagram views

When you pivot from a state or diagram view to the alert view, only alerts in a "New" state are displayed. Ideally it should show all alerts that are not in a "Closed" state. The web console already works this way, but the fat client does not.

  18. SQL MP wrongly specifies Service Pack Level

SQL MP wrongly discovers Service Pack Level attribute which shows 0 but the SQL 2016 is already installed as 13.1 which is SP1 version. Please correct.

  19. Overrides label console BUG - SCOM 1801

When you have alerts panel and click on the alerts view, you receive in the right panel an Overrides link, but it seems that IIS doesn't refresh the view but instead glues text one onto another and the link looks like this:

    OverridesOverrides Loading...Overrides

  20. Ability to decline MP Recommendations

With 1801+ the "Updates and Recommendations" node also includes 3rd Party MP's

However, I may not want these MPs to be installed (Ie Costs, etc). So when it comes to updating MPS that are already installed, I need to do them one at a time

Can we have the ability to decline MPS that we don't want to update or install?
