  1. The autoSignOutInterval issue in the web console

Please add this paramater for autoSignOutInterval to new SCOM Web console so session time-out can be customized properly.

  2. Expose Maintenance Mode in SCOM 1801 REST API

The new REST API should expose the ability to use Maintenance Mode. This would make it easier to use Maintenance Mode programmatically

  3. Agentless objects representing virtual cluster servers should ideally be situated under the node that currently hosts them

Agentless objects under “Administration\Device Management\Agentless Managed” representing virtual cluster servers should ideally be situated under the node that currently hosts them.

As it stands, the objects reside under the cluster node that they were first discovered on. This is highly confusing for the user.

  4. De-Activate and Activate a Management Pack

It would be handy to De-Activate a MP instead of deleting it. Or set a MP in maintenance.

  6. Allow dynamic grouping of all objects that are associated with a given criteria

For better alert Distribution it would be great to be able to create dynamic Groups that contain all objects based on a given criteria. I create a Group, provide a servername as criteria for example and all objects that have a relation to the Server become members of the Group (SQL DBs, IIS Websites, Hyper-V Host, HDDs, etc.). Right now it his very hard to accomplish this task. This feature would be awesome.

  7. provide a way to select the Top N from a group when creating dashboards in 1807 Web Console Dashboard

currently within the HTML5 dashboards you cannot selecta large group and display Top N , this can be selected per user but does not save across different users.

Also when sorting columns with numerical values these need to be sorted numerically rather than as a string like being done at present

  8. Azure Management Pack

The Azure Management Pack needs serious performance improvements. We should not have to dedicate a management server to run a single management pack.
Trying to run the Azure MP on a shared management server can cause SCOM to grind to a halt.

  9. More functionality in the SCOM 2016 web console

I understand that this is one of Microsoft's first passes with HTML 5, but really? Why isn't there a 'home' link when you use the alert link to first access the SCOM web console. One has to delete everything beyond /operationsmanager to get back to the other views. Also, why can we only select 1 object at a time (i.e. Windows computers, for maintenance mode and bulk alert management?

Any plans for improvement? Is there a subscription that's available to tell me when new updates are available?

  10. Improve User Role (Dashboards and Views) save performance

Change permissions on Dashboards and Views takes forever to save, currently +/- 40 min. This seems to be related to the number of classes, relations and views in the database.

This must be changed. It's not a workable situation that it would take 40 minutes to change just 1 view permission in 1 role.

  11. Make Self Tuning Thresholds persistent after agent restart

SCOM has had "Self Tuning Thresholds" since the beginning. Unfortunately, the alert thresholds that are calculated after the initial learning period are stored in memory and do not persist after a restart of the agent. This causes a gap in monitoring for several days every time the agent is restarted or the host is rebooted. The dynamic alert thresholds should be saved to the cache so that there is no monitoring gap. If the dynamic thresholds need to be reset and the learning period restarted, that should only be initiated manually from the console or via powershell, when the administrators…

  12. Fix the script used to monitor the cluster disks

When monitoring the Windows 2016 Failover Cluster disks, the script (Microsoft.Windows.Server.MonitorClusterDisks.vbs) times out and also causes the clussvc.exe to use excessive amount of CPU usage (on average 25% with peaks to 100%) if the cluster has a higher amount of physical disks (100). The systems are physical servers, with Xeon CPUs (8 physical cores + HT). The script does eventually finish if ran manually, but it needs 25 minutes...

  13. Possibility to add custom OID fields to the displayname of Network Device discovery

While discovering Network device items (such as custom classes) the discovery created by the Network Monitoring MP Generator does not allow to use a different property of the discovered object to use as displayname. Now it will use the Index as the name (object-1, object-2, object-3). While in SNMP we see the objects have several fields we can use, some of which have information such as location or description or otherwise included. We would like to use that in the name or description of the device-objects discovered.

  14. SCOM 1801: Login Session Expired on Internet Browser related to Web Console

    Hi,
when user or admin browse alert link URL to SCOM 1801 Web Console, then the user first get the error
„Your session with the Web console server expired“, although the user was not logged on before.

If user choose then „Use Alternate Credentials“, he/she can log in.

Microsoft Premium Support says that is "by design". We cannot call the BUGS "by design". This is a BUG in SCOM 1801, and must be solved asap.
We have a very large IT infrastructure and this feature is very important for us.

    Best regards

    Birdal

  15. Have an OM commandlet to delete a SCOM agent

Have a OM shell commandlet that deletes a SCOM agent (like right-click Delete in Management, Agent Managed Computers), something like this: Get-SCOMAgent –DNSHostName "server01.contoso.com" | Remove-SCOMAgent

  16. Include 'Downtime Periods' into the 'Availability' Reports for Multiple Objects

    Scenario:
A request to produce a downtime report for multiple objects (say multiple web app transaction monitoring) will only yield the overall downtime. Apparently, there is no way to include the downtime periods into the parent report as we have click on 'Downtime Periods' and that would subsequently produce a new report.

Would be better to have one single immediate view that will show the overall downtime as well as specific downtime periods right below each object so that the whole report can be exported into one single PDF (instead of exporting multiple reports for different objects by clicking on…

  17. AD MP - Global Catalog Data Sources query any GC in the domain

Issue exists in the current version 10.0.2.1 of the AD MP.

For the DC Global Catalog performance and availability monitors, as well as the Domain Member Global Catalog performance monitor, the DNS list of IPs returned for the entire domain is used to determine which GC to query. In a large distributed environment like ours, this can mean connecting to a DC all the way across the world, which can obviously cause performance issues. These monitors should also have options to only use local GCs for these tests.

  18. Bug in AD MP - Domain Member Global Catalog Performance Data Source

Issue exists in current version 10.0.2.1 of the MP.

In the "Microsoft.Windows.AD.DomainMemberPerspective.Performance.GlobalCatalog.DataSource" datasource, there is a simple bug that is breaking both the AD Member GC Performance Monitor, as well as the Performance collection that also uses this DS. The timer in the script calculates the time in seconds:

    iTime = DateDiff("s", dtStart, Now)

Unfortunately, the value is returned to the property bag only after the value is divided by 1000:

    Call oBag.AddValue("StatusValue", "" & iTime / 1000)

The thresholds in the monitor are intended to be seconds, so this is an obvious mistake. You can easily validate this by…

  19. Web Console - make Details pane resizable in Safari and Chrome on macOS

I'm using a Mac and open the web console of SCOM 1807 in Chrome or Safari. Clicking on a result in Results pane, I get only a couple of lines in the Details pane. Although I can drag and drop the grey line between the Results and Details pane, it constantly reverts to it's former position.
