  1. Include performance data for Azure Stack PAAS Capacities (MSSQL, MYSQL, etc)

I am able to gather performance data that includes the total storage, memory, and public IPs available for an Azure Stack region but i cannot get data for the PAAS storage capacities. This is viewable within the SQL adapter section of the admin portal dashboard of Azure Stack, but i would like to add it to the SCOM dashboard as a performance widget to give a holistic overview of the whole region.

  2. SCOM SDK does not use encryption when it establishes connections to the Operationsmanager & OperationsmanagerDW DB's as how SCVMM does.

We have SCOM & SCVMM databases hosted in the same SQL server and noticed that SCOM SDK does not use encryption when it establishes connections to the Operationsmanager & OperationsmanagerDW DB's as how SCVMM does.

We use the below SQL query to validate the same:

Select distinct se.session_id, dbname= case when dbid = 0 then null when dbid <> 0 then db_name(dbid) end,
    se.login_time,host_name, se.program_name,login_name, con.encrypt_option, getdate() as 'logdate'
    from sys.dm_exec_sessions se
    LEFT JOIN sys.sysprocesses sp on se.session_id = sp.spid
    LEFT JOIN sys.dm_exec_connections con
    ON con.session_id = se.session_id
WHERE NOT encrypt_option IS NULL and db_name(dbid) like '%Operationsmanager%'

    The field named…

  3. Allow pasting a list of servers when creating a Maintenance Mode schedule

We have thousands of servers we monitor and each week a subset (hundreds of them) are worked on during the maintenance window. It's very time consuming to manually find a couple hundred servers in a list of several thousand. Since we have a list of all the affected servers from our change control system, It would be great if we could just paste the server list into the Maintenance Mode Scheduler to create a one time schedule.

  4. mount point

The Windows Server OS MP v6.0.7323.0 is discovering the System Reserved \\?\Volume as a mounted disk when you create an override to enable the Mount Point Discovery Rule. This appears to be the case only for Server 2008 and 2012 but not for Server 2016. This behavior was addressed in an older version of the OS MP v6.0.7297.0. Did Microsoft forgot to include the fix in the current version? We need to monitor the mount points on our servers but there isn't a way to exclude just the \\?\Volume from the mount point discovery. Please advise on a fix. Thanks!

  5. @Microsoft: Loosing of Sense in SCOM

    Hi,
I have been involved with SCOM for about 2.5 years and have been working with all versions of SCOM starting from SCOM 2016.
Microsoft makes "developments" in SCOM, and now we have switched to the newest version SCOM 2019.
Actually, every development is connected with progress. The word "development" includes this meaning.
Unfortunately, I cannot see this sense at SCOM absolutely. It's getting worse, not better. This is not a "development", but a "reversal".

I have already listed the problems with SCOM 2019 in my other problem tickets in Technet forums, and looked at solutions. Now we have another…

  6. Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 support (RHEL 8)

Any idea when is RHEL 8 going to be supported? My customers are already deploying servers in RHEL8 and we cannot provide monitoring for them.

  7. PKI Certificate Monitoring for Unix/Linux

In addition to developing the PKI Certificate Monitoring MP directly and not having to rely on 3rd party, add the ability to monitor PKI Certificates in Unix/Linux environments.

  9. Node properties should reflect currently effective data

Current design for node location property is to show the last known value. For example a device is added and has a location this location is shown. If the location field is made empty the property in SCOM is not updated. This behavior is a deviation from the normal behavior for object properties as they do reflect the current effecitve data. Please remove this deviation and always show the current effective value, if we want to know a historical value we do have a data warehouse and reporting capabilities.

  10. SCOM 1807 ability to monitor Service Manager 2019

We are unable to migrate to SCOM 2019, but had already migrated Service Manager and Orchestrator to 2019. Service Manager servers report OS health without issues; however, anything related to the Service Manager environment just shows as "Unknown" - since SCOM doesn't have the ability to monitor 2008 R2 servers, upgrade SCOM isn't necessarily an option for everyone.

  12. Release and maintain a 2019 version of the "System Center Operations Manager 2007 R2 Authoring Resource Kit"

Release and maintain a 2019 version of the "System Center Operations Manager 2007 R2 Authoring Resource Kit".

This tool is an absolute gem in training new people to SCOM, which also gives them a better understanding on how everything is pieced together and useful for design work...

  13. multiple schedules on maintenance schedules or a copy function

Currently you can only set 1 schedule for a maintenance schedules... it'll be good to have multiple like sql jobs, or ability to copy the same schedules and paste.

  16. Support for Windows Server 2019 agents on SCOM 1807

Please, provide support for Windows Server 2019 agents on SCOM 1807. I could bet it works fine, but haven't tested yet
I can't migrate to SCOM 2019, as I still have to monitor some 2008 agents (that will still take some time to migrate)

  17. REHL 8 Server Monitoring through SCOM 2016

We has been approached by our UNIX Team and they would like to know how soon we can on-boarding REHL8 Server for monitoring through SCOM 2016 UR5. we have invested time to find out relevant information over the internet, but could not find anything and that is the reason why we have raise case with Microsoft REG:119051521002564 for same.

  18. SCOM 2019 support for 2008 R2 Clients

We need support in SCOM 2019 for agents that are running Server 2008 R2. Almost a quarter of our servers are still 2008 R2, and this is a huge hang up for us in moving up. Since these are more legacy systems, most are also unable to be updated.

  19. Start-SCOMAgentMaintenanceMode should have -Force parameter

Agent -initiated maintenance mode https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/system-center/scom/manage-maintenance-mode-overview?view=sc-om-2019#enable-from-target-system-1 is great, however as of now it still forces an answer in the console prompt - preventing the use from automated scripts that run on target systems. Adding a -Force parameter that skips the "are you sure?" check would be very welcome and trivial to implement, without us having to reverse and simulate the behaviour to reach the same effect.
