  1. Provide fast Web-based Dashboard-functionality

For SLO's the most obvious usage is that management want to see that the services meet the SLO's. However, there is no good functionality to let them do so in SCOM today.
Having them log in to a link on the web console takes way too long and providing them with the out-of-the-box reports is not good-looking.

The web presentation layer for this must be more appealing and fast-loading (2-5 seconds) as it is to be viewed at executive meetings. Having this online and available would make SCOM invaluable and the no 1 source for this data from their perspective. …

Thanks for your request to update Visual Studio Authoring extensions to work with Visual Studio 2015. An updated version of System Center Visual Studio Authoring Extensions tool with support for Visual Studio 2015 is now available. Both Community and Enterprise editions are supported. Older versions of Visual Studio (2012/2013) continue to be supported. There are no other new features.

You can download the tool from http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30169 .

  3. Dashboards Templates and flexibility

Provide more flexible/easy way to create fast dashboards. More Dashboard templates like the new one from SQL that provide new templates, new views and new shiny updated dashboards.

With SCOM 1801 we have shipped HTML5 dashboards removing Silverlight dependency and allowing access of Web Console from multiple browsers. With this release Web Console is completely HTML based. Authoring experience has been simplified with an open layout dashboard.

  4. Make company knowledge editable using a modern version of Office / Windows.

Make company knowledge useful again. Either editable via modern version of Word / Windows or even better using a built in html editor so Office is not a requirement.

With SCOM 1801, company knowledge can now be edited in alert drill down page from the browser itself.

  5. Storage Spaces MP without VMM

To use storage spaces for generic file serices we need to be able to monitor storage spaces with SCOM without having any dependency on vMM.

Requiring VMM is only useful if you are using storage spaces in a fileserver for Hyper-V.

  10. Include schedule Maintenance mode in SCOM console directly

Service desk receives many requests for scheduled maintenance activities. Since its a very common thing in IT IM it will be great to include this scheduled maintenance feature directly in the SCOM console.

With the release of System Center 2016 Operations Manager, you now have access to the new Network Monitoring Management Pack generator tool which provides you with extended monitoring for your SNMP-enabled devices by generating your own custom Management Pack. Till tool also has an inbuilt MIB browser which allows you to import MIBs.

More information is available here: https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/momteam/2016/10/20/system-center-operations-manager-extensible-network-monitoring/

With SCOM 1801 we have shipped HTML5 dashboards removing Silverlight dependency and allowing access of Web Console from multiple browsers.

With Custom widgets, you can call SCOM REST APIs and reder them with any custom HTML visualization (first party or third party).
