  3. Allow SCOM to use TLS1.2

This request is to update SCOM to be able to use TLS1.2 as a secure channel method. Currently SCOM 2012R2 and SCOM 2016 do not support TLS1.1, nor 1.2.

    SCOM 2012 R2, SCOM 2016 and SCOM 1801 support TLS 1.2

  4. SCOM 2016 support SQL Server 2016SP1

Currently SCOM 2016 does NOT support SP1. SP1 touts consistent programmability across SQL Server editions. This should also benefit the development team to streamline customizations.

  6. Include the "Universal Linux Monitoring" Management Pack with System Center 2016 Management Packs for UNIX and Linux

Currently the System Center 2016 Management Packs for UNIX and Linux do not include the actual universal monitoring MP (Microsoft.Linux.Universal.Monitoring) for Unix/Linux, and it must be obtained from the older 2012 MPs.

  7. Allow import of already created dashboards into one dashboard view and share to others

Created dashboards can only be viewed on one screen at a time. It would be good to be able to consolidate various created dashboards into one screen as a new dashboard and share to other users as well.

With SCOM 1801 we have shipped HTML5 dashboards removing Silverlight dependency and allowing access of Web Console from multiple browsers. With this release Web Console is completely HTML based.

HTML5 dashboards allows users to save dashboards into a new MP or an existing unsealed MP which can be exported through Operations Console to share with others.

  10. dashboard

Make dashboard wizard a true wizard. Make creation easier, more intuitive. Being new to SCOM 2012R2, the amount of choices, data and selections available is utterly overwhelming. Reimaging the wizard to be more detailed with selections for ideas based on questions presented so the process will understand exactly what it is you are trying to get the system to presetnt to you!!? At this point I am dang near just completely overwhelmed. An example would be: A Process/wizard that would walk me through selecting the necessary objects to create a dashboard would show the overall heath of all of my…

  12. Move Scheduled Maintenance Mode to the Monitoring Pane

The Scheduled Maintenance Mode feature is only available to SCOM Administrators currently because it is added to the SCOM Administration Pane. What is needed is to have this available to the Service Desk (as stated by Vinayak) and Operators and Advanced Operators levels. Meaning it would have to be made available somehow in the Monitoring Pane in order to be used by a very large part of the maintenance mode setting target audience.
Of course the PowerShell cmdlets are the other way of getting to the Scheduled Maintenance mode entries and to adjust them, but this is basically for use…

  13. Exchange 2016 MP

Exchange 2016 MP still not released (and the product is there for more than 90 days. MS promised to deliver MPs within that time. Where is it? This is absolutely not acceptable in enterprise environments (and of course other customers as well).
    Microsoft, when do you deliver?

  15. Automatic refresh

To many times have I gone to a page only to find out what I'm looking at isn't what is actually displayed. Why should I have to refresh every display? This should be incorporated into the display change.

Each widget in the dashboard have their own refresh interval rate which will be automatically refreshed according to the configured frequency.

  16. Do not use /tmp/ as source for the SCOM downloaded scripts. This is a big security issue.

At the moment we need to allow /tmp/scx* scripts to be elevated via sudoers. This is a huge security conflict.

  17. HTML5 Portal

This is a request for a web console that is based on HTML5 and not on silver light. I also need full admin functionality in the portal so I don't have to switch between windows and web console.

  18. Maintenance Mode from clientside by Agent

Maintenance Mode can only be startet via console.

We have a lot of server administrators and automatic scripts which initiate sometimes a reboot.

It would be great when a machine can be switched to Maintenance Mode by the agent, for example with a Powershell CMDlet.

We have made several improvements in the schedule maintenance mode capability in SCOM 2016, may that be to do with surfacing this functionality for operators in the monitoring pane or the client side support. All of this is captured in the blog – https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/momteam/2016/10/24/improvements-to-scheduling-of-maintenance-mode-client-side-via-agent-and-accessibility-to-operators-via-monitoring-pane/

  19. Better / flexible Notifications, Subscriptions

The subscriptions are very limited in setting criterias. A more granular targeting and options would help deliver more accurate notifications. E.g. there is no way to exclude.

We have done enhancements to Notifications and subscriptions area, these enhancements will be shipped with SCOM 2019 (which will be available in Q1 2019).

Enhancements made in Notifications and Subscriptions area:
    - Powerful criteria builder: Administrators will be able to leverage the advanced/flexible criteria builder which enables you to perform “Exclusions”, “OR” operation, regular expressions and multi-level “AND”/“OR” grouping in criteria
    - Rich HTML email: Administrators will be able to leverage the default HTML email template or create their own HTML email content. Operators will be able to directly launch the “Alerts details page”, “Alert Source details page” or the “Rule/Monitor details page” directly from the email to get access to more relevant information.

  20. Easy way to fetch the list of rules and monitors applicable for a server in SCOM

Way to fetch details of rules and monitors enabled for a scom agent.
