  1. Ability to decline MP Recommendations

With 1801+ the "Updates and Recommendations" node also includes 3rd Party MP's

However, I may not want these MPs to be installed (Ie Costs, etc). So when it comes to updating MPS that are already installed, I need to do them one at a time

Can we have the ability to decline MPS that we don't want to update or install?

  2. Provide capability to apply update rollups from console

Would like to have the ability to apply a rollup to the environment without visiting each server and without creating custom scripts. Simply pull down the rollup and apply to selected servers from the console.

  3. Remove the ability for Operators to use Maintenance Mode

Certain customers have a global command center that acts on alerts and health states changes. As such we would like to have a more granularity level in User Role permissions. It would be nice to restrict access to maintenance mode from operators.

  4. Bug: Deploying Agents in 1801 there is no "OK" Button

When upgrading agents in 1801 form the console, in the administration pane, after selecting agents there is no OK button to deploy the upgrade to selected agents. Pressing enter works and the upgrade process begins.

  5. Release Agent UR as a management pack

Releasing Agent URs bundled in a .mpb management pack along with a scripted Installation agent task would give the option to deploy it easily to "non manageable" servers, instead of having to do it using a deployment system like SCCM (which is not always available nor easy to use when not a SCCM admin) or even manually (which is often a long and boring process).

I actually already do it myself, it's not very difficult using VSAE, but it can't be publicly released because of licensing/terms of use.

So why not having it directly from microsoft?

  6. Export-SCOMEffectiveMonitoringConfiguration cmdlet should ignore commas in description

The PowerShell cmdlet Export-ScomEffectiveMonitoringConfiguration will output a mis-configured CSV file and of the fields in the monitor contain a comma - such as Description (the most likely one). The cmdlet should ignore commas if finds in any fields, so the exported CSV is properly formatted.

  7. Fix the Find issue on the Agent Health State View for the Agent State view

Can you fix the bug in the sealed Management Pack for the Operations Manager under Monitoring,

You have to click Find every time when you want to find a Agent in the Agent State View to do something like Flush the Health Service / reload config/ Enable Audit Collection Etc...

(Operations Manager > Agent Details > Agent State) column this thing started from SCOM 2012 and is still SCOM 2016.

2007R2/2007 had it enabled by Default.

  8. DataCenter Dashboard - Default Performance Tiles applied to all commonly monitored classes in views

When you add a monitored object/class to a dashboard view it would be very helpful if the more commonly monitored classes had their typical performance tiles applied out of the box. This would save an awful lot of repetitive work if you're invested heavily in rolling out datacenter dashboard views using a standard group model for the tiles.

Perhaps a selection in the drop-down to "Add Standard Performance Tiles"? And then you can just remove the ones you don't need.

So, for example, the class "Windows Server 2012 Logical Disk" would
have the typical three or four most related performance…

  12. The ability to commit configuration changes in bulk instead of 1 per 1

When you have to create overrides to workflows, it always freezes the console when applying overrides or changes to SCOM in general. The SCOM Console than says 'busy' and there is not much you can do.
My idea would be that you can place certain overrides in a 'queue' and then apply them all at once.
Think of a firewall config where you can make the changes first, and apply them later.
This would allow us to make a lot more changes to SCOM without affecting the users of the SCOM console too much as you can apply many overrides…

  13. Add a "non-silverlight" web page that can be customized

a customizable web page where individuals can modify overrides for servers they are scoped for. Overriding rules/monitors is an administrative feature that requires administrator privileges to make changes.

I don't believe giving the keys to the kingdom should be required for users who want to change the threshold for CPU on their serverA or serverB. This puts the burden on the admin to have to make simple changes that should be self-service for application support technician.

When I say "customizable", I mean select a user role, the rules/monitors that can have overrides modified. This would eliminate the being tied to…

  14. A survey on usability of manual reset of monitors

In SCOM currently there are 3 options to reset monitors when the corresponding alerts are resolved. They are Event reset, timer reset and manual reset. The usual expectation is once the alert is resolved, the corresponding monitor that triggered the alert is moved back to healthy state. But this is not the case if the monitor has manual reset. The administrator has to go change the health state of the monitor manually else the monitor will remain in critical state and generate false alerts.
We are trying to understand the usability of manual reset option. Your response to this survey…

  15. Buffer and send all active email alerts at a later schedule.

Add the possibility to send email notifications at the start of the time range in the subscriber settings.

For example, a subscriber is set to recieve alerts on week days between 07:00 a.m - 04:30 p.m.
Notifications generated outside the time and date range are not beeing sent, as it should.
But it would be great if there would be a choice to send all still active alerts generated between 04:30 p.m to 07:00 a.m to the subscriber at the start of their timerange. Like a headup of what is comming for them.

  16. All Management Servers Resource Pool alert is useless

So when we get All Management Servers Resource Pool alert it often useless for us. There are no alert context so it is very hard to find the problem scom server.

It would be nice to have a problem server in alert description in all cases.

Such behavior is on 2012r2 u8

  17. Customizable admin role

    Hi,
it would be great to get a customizable Administrator role. Often there's the request, that SCOM admins should not be able to not touch various Systems (AD, ...).

I could imagine that an Enterprise admin like for AD could be the "top admin" that customizes the roles.

    Cheers,
    Patrick

  18. More columns in console

Would like to have more columns in different console areas (not just dashboards). For example...
    - Groups: add column to view "total members"
    - Subscriptions: add column to view "subscription giud"

  19. Allow own custom named additional attributes for alerts.

. At the moment 3rd party tools use the standard custom attributes and this stops us from integrating own needed information.

  20. Performance monitoring should also include datawarehouse values.

At the moment only the SCOM DB timerange is available in the performance reports. It should automatically additionally use datawarehouse for longer timeranges.
