  1. Allow wildcards to exclude some Databases/instance and not all

To exclude an instance or database from discovery, you have to either specify the full name or use * to exclude everything. It would be much more use to be able to exclude '*_clone' or '*test*'.

      • Correct the fact that all UNIX/Linux-based monitor health states are reset when a Management Server (or Gateway) is rebooted.

When a Management Server (or Gateway) is rebooted, all UNIX/Linux-based monitor health states are reset, resulting in the subsequent re-generation of a slew of alerts for all related x-plat agents

        • WebConsole missing form authentication Integrated with AD

) In SCOM2012 R2, it was possible to login to the SCOM web console with a different user via a form based authenticated through AD.
If a user would try to connect with a non permitted user to the console, a form would load up within the webconsole and would ask for Username/Password. It would then be possible to use another account with the rights permissions to access the console.
This feature is now gone in SCOM2016 and doesn't seem to be any work around in the current context.
In a company where users have 2 different account (1 for…

            • Install-SCOMAgent cmdlet doesn't configure failover Management Server(s)

              Hi,

Deploying agents using the Install-SCOMAgent cmdlets seems to do the exact same process as pushing agents from the console as when you run the cmdlet you can see that the installation is in progress by looking in Pending Actions in the console.

However it seems not to be exactly the same process as Agents deployed using the cmdlet don't seem to be aware of failover Management Servers and doing Get-SCOMAgent then looking at .GetFailoverManagementServers() confirms that as it returns nothing.

              • ManagementServerInitiatesConnection fixin SCOM 2012 ?

This issue has been corrected in SCOM 2016 UR4 :

After a network outage, the management server doesn't reconnect to the gateway server if the gateway server was installed with the /ManagementServerInitiatesConnection=True option.

The issue still exists in SCOM 2012 R2, Is it coming in Update Rollup 15 ? Thanks

                  • Invoke-SCXDiscovery cmdlet need to support referencing SCOM RunAs accounts

Currently there is no way to leverage a built in RunAs account that is pre-configured in SCOM to use Invoke-SCXDiscovery cmdlet, while it is possible to reference that when pushing an agent via the console. Inability to rely on SCOM RunAs accounts requires keeping another copy of the credentials together with the script, which in turn adds some overhead with regards to keeping those creds secure and in consistence with the SCOM store.

                    • Provide capability to apply update rollups from console

Would like to have the ability to apply a rollup to the environment without visiting each server and without creating custom scripts. Simply pull down the rollup and apply to selected servers from the console.

                          • By default only most important rules & monitors activated

Instead of leaving the initial tuning to the administrators do it right away.

Administrators can then enable rules and monitors that are not essential.

                            • Fix "Management Pack Recommendations" MP 7.3.13165.0

I have just updated to this latest version of the 'Management Pack Recommendations MP' via the Updates and Recommendations feature in SCOM2016. I now have a couple of hundred powershell failed to run warnings from a large number of servers for 'Lightweight non server roles discovery' filling my alerts pane. Previously zero script errors.

So far been unsuccessful in resolving this issue.

                              • Remove the ability for Operators to use Maintenance Mode

Certain customers have a global command center that acts on alerts and health states changes. As such we would like to have a more granularity level in User Role permissions. It would be nice to restrict access to maintenance mode from operators.

                                • Solve Maintenance mode Conflict by use the furthest end time.

Best way to explain is an exemple.

I put a logical drive in Maintenance Mode for 60 Min.

If my collegue put the windows Computer in maintenance WITH Child Iems for 15 min during my maintenance, My logical disk will be out of maintenance a the end on the Computer Maintenance.

Normaly i expect the maintenance on my Logical disk should be end at his scheduled end time MINIMUM never Before.

                                  Thanks

                                    • Bug: Deploying Agents in 1801 there is no "OK" Button

When upgrading agents in 1801 form the console, in the administration pane, after selecting agents there is no OK button to deploy the upgrade to selected agents. Pressing enter works and the upgrade process begins.

                                        • Let us send notifications when 3-state monitor changes state

A LOT of companies (all my customers) have a workflow where they have Warning being the proactive alert and Critical being the "send to on-call" staff alert.

The problem is that SCOM only trigger a notification when the alert is created or when it is switching resolution state. This means that if an alert is sent to the low-prio channel when the 3-state monitor raises a Warning alert, no notification will ever be sent to the high-prio channel as the alert transitions to Critical.

This is, honestly, such a basic notification strategy that ANY OTHER monitoring product i've used handles…
